Then earlier this year, strangely enough, I had a stack of graded 9.8 comics that I’d already listed on eBay stolen from my car amongst a lot of other things. I’d received the comics from a buddy for close to nothing. At the time, I was in the process of moving from Cleveland, Oh to Canton when they were stolen. That’s the only reason they were in my car to begin with. Was parked in a parking lot in downtown Canton as I tried to have some work licenses filed downtown and of course someone comes along, breaks my window, takes a bunch of valuables and leaves a trail of my clothes down the alleyway. Just my luck. I immediately contacted eBay, tried to have these 25 or so listings pulled down, but it had just crossed over to the point where I couldn’t cancel. I contacted all the buyers, trying to cancel the auctions, explaining the situation. Most of the comics had bids that ranged from $1-$5. They really weren’t that valuable. The auctions ended. I contacted the sellers again, refunded their money if they’d already paid, and explained the situation. Most people were completely understanding and sympathetic. But to my surprise, a few people were very upset and insisted I was only cancelling the sales because I wasn’t happy with the final sale price. I assured them, I would not sacrifice my feedback for a handful of $5 comics. No matter what I offered to make it right, the reply was no. We want the comics or else. So overnight, my 100% positive feedback took a massive hit, all because someone decided to break my back window. The truth is, I’m just a guy who is raising my family and going to work every day. I sell things that my wife and I buy out of interest, sometimes enjoy for a while, and sell to buy other things that interest us. That rating doesn’t reflect me, how I conduct myself, or how I do business. I guarantee that anyone who buys from me is getting exactly what they bid on and if you’re not satisfied, I’m happy to correct the issue. I’m not so hard up for money that I would allow myself to be unkind or immoral to get ahead. Hopefully in time I can get my feedback back up. Good luck and happy bidding.
